### *Morphologies of Resurrection*

2020 | Series of Six Sculptures | Biocompatible Polyamide

As biotechnology, AI, and digital fabrication advance, our ability to reconstruct, regenerate, and enhance life could forever alter evolution, the environment, and the trajectory of humanity.

Morphologies of Resurrection merges paleontology, computational design, and digital manufacturing to explore bio-digital evolution. Drawing from the 3D scan data of a triceratops fossil from the Smithsonian Institution, this series reinterprets extinct life forms through technological regeneration and evolutionary computing. Presented as both scientific specimens and relics of speculative futures, this work invites reflection on the potentials and implications of synthetic biology, technological evolution, and reconstructing and enhancing life from deep time into the far future.

## The Process

3D scan data from the Smithsonian Institution’s triceratops fossil, Hatcher, was extracted as digital material for technological evolution, transforming ancient biological history into a computational blueprint.

AI-driven computational morphogenesis uses evolutionary algorithms to explore bio-inspired structures. It simulated natural intelligence over a long time to create new morphologies for the future.

The structural possibilities were improved through computer-based evolution and digital modeling. Amy used technology to imagine how extinct species might change and balanced natural growth with computer-based design.

Each piece was meticulously hand-finished, enhancing details to honor both its natural origins and speculative future, balancing biotechnological innovation with artistic refinement.
